The Film

In September, 1998, I received a phone call from Judy Irving, who wanted to discuss the possibility of making a film about the wild parrot flock. The film grew into the 83 minute feature-length documentary/art film that found its way into theaters and onto DVD.
There is a lot of information about the film on the Pelican Media web site and on the the film's web site, so I won't go into a lot of detail here (although I'll have more to say about the film at a later date). But there is one question I get asked a lot that I'd like to answer. Was I already working on the book when I met Judy? Yes. They are quite different projects--complementary, but unique in concept and execution.
